Von Ebert Brewing
This Brewery has two locations in Portland - one of them on the west side in the Pearl district, which we visited. The newest location (opened in summer of 2018) is on the east side in the Glendoveer area. The original location is very large, more of a restaurant than a craft beer taproom. We went for dinner. The beer and pizza were very good. Location: 131 NW 13th Avenue Updated: Oct ’18 |
Base Camp Brewing
This place is located in SE Portland in the area of a few other good breweries. It has a craft beer taproom feel and no fancy decorations. Each tap is decorated a different color with carabiners. Great backdrop to the taps is full of outdoor adventure pictures. Arrived here late in the evening and it was busy and full of people. We ordered a flight with a couple of pints... Beers Enjoyed:

Stickmen Brewing Company
Great brewery and restaurant located on a bay of Oswego Lake. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a beer and meal in the great Oregon summer weather. Full restaurant menu and full bar. Good variety of beer which is brewed on site. The ones I tried had great flavor. Beautiful and relaxing at night on the outdoor patio. Location: 40 N State Street, Lake Oswego Updated Jan '15 |
Update: The Commons Brewery is closing by the end of 2017 with Modern Times Beer taking over this location early 2018. For more info, click here.
The Commons Brewery
It's starting to sound like a broken record, but this is another great Oregon brewery. This place has a huge open area making it a great gathering place for groups of friends. Walking distance to several other breweries, such as Cascade and Hair of the Dog. Food consists of small cheese and meat boards. Location: 630 SE Belmont Street, Portland Updated Apr '16 |
Tugboat Brewing Company
Located downtown and walking distance to several other breweries. Service was extremely slow, even for a light crowd. I wasn't expecting much before I entered (based on word of mouth) and didn't get much. I tried the Chernobyl Stout and it tasted like it was actually in the nuclear disaster. I didn't see a food menu, but didn't really search for one either. It was one and done for me. Be your own judge... Location: 711 SW Ankeny St, Portland Updated Oct '15 |
Lompoc Brewing
Lompoc has multiple locations scattered around Portland. I went to the location on Williams which is actually 2 locations. There is the actual brewery (Fifth Quadrant) with a restaurant and nice outdoor patio and around the corner is the barrel tasting room (Sidebar). I stopped by both places. The Sidebar offers seasonal specialty beers as well as limited quantities of their barrel-aged beers. Between these two places, there is something for everyone. Hopworks Urban Brewery
Hopworks has a couple locations in Portland and one to be opened soon in Vancouver. I went to the location (Bikebar) on the same block as Lompoq. There were 15 taps of beer and a couple more pouring their own cider. The use locally-sourced organic hops in their beer. The brewery/restaurant was decent sized with a nice pub menu which included burgers, pizza and calzones. Location: 3947 North Williams Avenue, Portland Updated Oct '16 |
Ancestry Brewing
Ancestry Brewing has a couple locations in the Portland metro area. I went to the location on the east side of Portland, in the Sellwood neighborhood. They do not brew beer at this location. It is merely a small taproom for their beer and some pub-style food. There was a nice selection of 20 different beers which included English, Belgian and American beer styles. There was also a couple TVs for catching your favorite game. For the most part, I though their beer was above average. the bartender was friendly and informative about their beer. VanguardBrewing
Located less than 20 miles south of Portland, Vanguard brewing holds its own against the much bigger and more known Portland breweries. Within their beer lineup, Vanguard offers several traditional beers such as Witbier, German Pilsner and English style along with a variety of always popular IPAs. 20 taps offer a mix of their own beer and guest beer. Friendly atmosphere and plenty of seating. No food is served but you can bring your own food from nearby restaurants.. Location: 27501 SW 95th Avenue #945, Wilsonville Updated Apr '17 |
