Thirsty Pagan Brewing
This is a bit of a unique brewery. They offer an excellent combination of great beer and wonderful hand crafted gourmet pizza. To add to the fun there is usually a delightful barrel aged beer on tap, thanks to their cellar full of barrel aging beers. Combining their beer and pizza with a full schedule of live music makes this great place to spend an evening with friends. The Thirsty Pagan is located in Superior, Wisconsin just a short drive over the bridge from Duluth, Minnesota. Location: 1615 Winter St, Superior, WI 54880 Updated: Oct '22 |
Pitchfork Brewing
This is an excellent nanobrewery. Located just a few miles into Wisconsin from Minnesota on the Interstate 94. They usually have 8-10 beers on tap. One nice thing about Pitchfork is that they are a true nanobrewery. Since they brew in small batches, their selection is constantly changing. They also specialize in an ever-changing selection of firkins. The firkin kegs are visible in the window in the photo at the top of the page. Location: 709 Rodeo Drive, Hudson Updated: Dec '17 |
Oliphant Brewing
Located just across the Minnesota/Wisconsin border, east of Minneapolis/St. Paul, in Somerset Wisconsin. It's across the street from the Apple River entry point for tubing down the river - a favorite thing for Twin Citians to do. As you might guess, the name comes from the large elephant-like creatures in the Lord of the Rings. A small but fun place as can be noted by their very creative beer names (see Wisconsin landing page photo). A small batch brewery (~100 gallon brewing system) which allows it to create lots of variety in their beer. 16 beers on tap which are all available in a large flight or half-flight. They can their own beer right at the counter, so if your tubing down the river, stop in first to take some fresh beer with you. You won't regret it. Location: 350 Main Street #2, Somerset Updated: Feb '15 |
The Brewing Projekt
Located in downtown Eau Claire, this small brewery has quickly out grew their old location. They have moved across the street to a larger location. They now have a temporary taproom with a handful of tables and bar seating but it is a very inviting and friendly atmosphere. They are building a new taproom next door and will have nice outside patio seating for the summer months. The new taproom is opening spring 2019. These guys do some awesomely flavored beer so after visiting the taproom grab a crawler or two to go. This place is a must go to in Western Wisconsin. Modicum Brewing Company
Nice place with a great small craft brewery taproom atmosphere. They have been around a couple years. Being a small brewery the beer offering changes frequently. Nice collection of their own beers, and free popcorn. Highly recommend the barrel-aged beers. They offer flights of any size. We did a 6 beer flight. There address is Altoona, however it is basically in Eau Claire. Location: 3732 Spooner Avenue, Altoona (Eau Claire) Updated: Feb '19 |
