Interesting brewery which is located a short taxi drive from the center city area. They have a small outdoor beer garden behind the brewery. We were there in the evening and it was wonderful. The indoor sitting area is smaller with about 6 tables. I was surprised they did not have the menu on the wall like most craft breweries. You need to ask the workers what beers are available. Their beers are also available around town in bottles. Beers we enjoyed the following beers:

Hausbrauerei Altstadthof
Hausbrauerei Altstadthof is a small microbrewery near the city center. What is interesting is that they are very young for a German brewery, but old for a craft brewery. This microbrewery started 35 years ago. What is unique here is that they are brewing their own new unique versions of traditional German beers, as well as the newer craft beer flavors. Visited them a second time this year. The place was very busy and full of energy. they have a nice collection of beers.
The real treat was they gave me their new SL500 beer as a gift. This is a new beer they just started serving. It celebrates the 500 year anniversary of Germany's "Beer Purity Law". Location: Mitte, Bergstraße 19 Nearest Metro: Friederich-Ebert-Platz Station, UBahn U3 Updated Apr '17
