The craft beer craze is sweeping Michigan, making it fifth in the nation in the number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs.

Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor has an impressive collection of craft breweries and tap rooms. The weather was warm and sunny which made walking through the downtown area and the campus very nice.

Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery

These guys had 6 in house brewed beers and a cask conditioned Red Ale. We had dinner here as well. They offer very good bar food; burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc.

> Bumper Crop IPA: Solid IPA, hoppy with a dry floral and slight bitterness
> Red Velvet Amber (Cask Beer): Nice old world flavor and texture
> Honey Saison: Excellent Saison definitely with having another

This is great tap house with over 50 beers on tap. They are primarily Michigan beers, however there are also some domestic micro brews and a few commonly known Euro-beers. You could easily spend the whole day here tasting different beers.

Beer Grotto

This was a small place with 5-7 tables inside and another 6-8 outdoors on the patio. The patio also had extra room for standing. It was very busy, and the beer was good.

They had a nice large tap rack as you walk in. They offered a wide selection of craft beers. It was getting late so we only had time for one.

Bavarian Bliss Hefeweizen: good German Wheat with a slight spiciness
