Jailbreak Brewing Company
Jailbreak brewing is located about 20 minutes SW of Baltimore in Laurel. It has a large open area taproom with mostly beer garden type seating. There is also an area where you can sit on a couch to give you a little more homey feel. There are a few large-screen TVs around the room so you can watch your favorite sport team play. No food served, but you can bring your own and a food truck occasionally stops by. They have an interesting concept for the music as it is controlled by an app, so if you don't like it, simply change it via the app. Location: 9445 Washington Blvd North, Suite F, Laurel Updated: Sep '16 |
Heavy Seas Beer
Heavy Seas Beer is fairly well known in Baltimore area. They serve up 8 of their beers on draft in the moderately sized taproom. There is no food menu however they serve up brick-oven pizza and pretzels from the pizza bus outside (pictured at right). Interestingly, the pizzas are made from spent grain from the brewery combined with other ingredients. Brewery tours are available on-site. Dogfish Head Alehouse
Dogfish Head pumps out some pretty darn good beer, unfortunately, they don't distribute to Minnesota. So, I'm relegated to searching for it during my travels. During my trip to Baltimore, I was going to make the 2-hour drive to Delaware to visit the brewery but fortunately, I was able to find the Dogfish Head Alehouse nearby and a much shorter drive. While they don't brew on-site, they still serve up the same great beer with pretty good food as well. This is a busy place, so during peak hours you may have a wait to find seating.
