pFriem Family Brewers
pFriem is one of the best breweries along The Gorge. Located in close proximity to Double Mountain and Full Sail along the Columbia River and across the street from a waterfront park. This would be the first brewery I seek out when I get back to The Gorge. Good sized interior and light pub fare available. Outdoor seating available to help enjoy the view. Full Sail Brewery
Full Sail Brewery is located a few blocks off the Columbia River, but with a second floor tap room and restaurant, you are able to get a nice view of the river from the large open area in the restaurant. Food is simple pub fare. I ordered a flight of beer and only 1 was above average for me. A nice souvenir is that when you order a flight, you can keep one of the glasses. Thunder Island Brewing Co
Thunder Island was a great place to visit because as you can see from the photo at the right, it is located directly on the Columbia River. You can sit outside under the trees and enjoy your beer and conversation while experiencing a great view from the river's edge. This is a new brewery in Hood River; just opening in summer of 2018. Everything is new, shiny and large… They have separate taproom and restaurant areas. We just had beers in the tap room, where they had about 8 beers on tap. They are located about one block from Pfriem (my favorite in the area). Beers enjoyed: (the beer names are not very creative)
