minneapolis/St. Paul airport
It took a while, but MSP airport has helped make layovers or delayed flights a little more enjoyable for craft beer lovers. The only brewery with a taproom had been Rock Bottom, which doesn't brew any beer on-site. While their beers are adequate, they aren't what beer lovers are craving. Now there are finally other choices - some really good ones!
Stone Arch
Finally, a good place to drink some of the great Minnesota craft beer before, between or after a flight at the airport! Stone Arch opened in November 2016. There are 25 taps plus a large selection of bottles and cans - all of it brewed in Minnesota 20 of the taps are rotating selections and the other 5 are part of the "Beer Lab" where local Guild brewers can showcase special beer or experimental beer. The Beer Lab will have a representative from 1 of the 5 breweries available 4 hours during the day to interact with and educate interested travelers. Open early and food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Location: Concourse between Terminals F and G (Next to Delta Sky Club) Terminal 1 Updated: Jan '17 |
Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery
Chain brewpub and restaurant with locations throughout the United States. Serving typical pub food and a handful of their standard beer styles. Beer is not brewed on-site. Location: Main Concourse Between Terminals C/D and E Terminal 1 Updated: Jan '17 |
Republic MSP Airport
Not long after Stone Arch opened, the owners of Republic MPLS have now opened up a subset of the original Minneapolis location that is one of Draft Magazines top 100 beer bars in America. Well short of the 100 taps found in Minneapolis although there is a nice selection of Minnesota beers flowing from 16 taps and a small bottle collection. Live music from the McNally Smith College of Music during peak travel times which are Thursday and Friday from 3:30 - 7:00 pm and Sundays from 1:30 to 5:00 pm. Large restaurant area with plenty of seating. Location: Main Concourse Between Terminals C/D and E, Terminal 1 Updated: Feb '17 |
