Stark Brewing Company (Formerly Milly's Tavern)
Not sure what is going on with these guys. They started as Stark Brewing, closed and rebranded as Milly's Tavern and in 2016 changed back to Stark Brewing. For me, it was hit or miss with the beer, although it was probably more miss. Perhaps that has something to do with the name changes. They have a full menu and we ate there. The food was good. It is a very large place, so can accommodate lots of people for eating and drinking. Location: 500 North Commercial Street, Manchester Updated Jan '15 |
Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Company
Moat Mountain Brewing is in the center of New Hampshire at the edge of the White Mountain National forest. It is about 100 miles north of Manchester or Portsmouth. It's a scenic drive on the way there, but don't go just for the beer. I was not happy with it and it was average at best. Most were below average. The food is typical pub fare with only a couple smoked items on the menu. Location: 3378 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway Updated Jul '15 |
Anheuser-Busch Brewing
After reading the title of this entry, you're probably asking yourself why in the world is Anheuser-Busch on this site which is dedicated to craft beer. Well, the answer is that the brewery tour is very interesting, if nothing else, just because of the massiveness of the brewery. The bottling operation is impressive in itself. A brewery tour also makes for a good family outing because you are able to get up close and personal with the famous Clydesdale Horses. The kids will love it. And you don't have to drink the beer after the tour. The brewery is located about 15 miles south of Manchester, so if it's in the area, it's worth a stop.
