Raccoon Lodge & Brew Pub
This place caught me off guard because I had heard from my local colleagues that is was just an average place. I was quite surprised when I went here only to find out that this actually is the brewery for Cascade Brewing (see Cascade on Portland page). They have many more of the non-sour Cascade beers than at the Cascade Barrel House, which are not as good, especially if you are a sour beer lover. They did have a few of their great sours and bottle sales as well. It's a large place with a large outdoor seating area. Light pub fare is available. Bartender was quite knowledgeable about their beers.

McMenamins is a chain of restaurants up and down Washington and Oregon, with most of the restaurants in Oregon. It also has its own breweries in a number of the restaurants in order to support all locations. I’ve been to a couple of these. A lot of their restaurants are themed with hotels, live music, and theater. At the Edgefield location, which I went to, they had a neat hotel, a movie house, live concert venues, spa and shopping all on a single campus. It was quite amazing. The beer is usually good and there is decent full food menu.

Uptown Market is located in Beaverton and is a combination bottle shop and brewery. It's a great place to stop in after work for a beer or two and then bring home a bottle of craft beer. The bottle selection was very impressive, with lots of variety. They have 18 taps of which 8 were pouring when I was there. Their own beer was quite good. Overall, a great place for beer.

Vertigo Brewing is located among a bunch of commercial buildings, so not exactly where I would have expected to find it. But it was worth the hunt as the beer was good. As I sat at the bar, I noticed a lot of people ordering half and half beers (of all styles). This is a smallish place with a food truck on Fridays and I believe someone sells tacos one a week, otherwise, just beer.

Brannon’s Pub & Brewery - NOW CLOSED (AUG 2015)
Pub and brewery with a fair amount of interior space for eating, drinking and enjoying yourself. They have a very unique and interesting ceiling with some very large gears hanging down. I though the beer was good but I've heard varying reports.
