Some of the breweries listed above have had been either bought out by or had significant investment from private investment companies. While not quite the same as a full sell-out to the 'Big Box Breweries" it is significant because not only does it mean additional access to money from the investment group, but the investment group must show substantial profit to its own investors, and length of investment is typically less than 10 years. Since this concept is still relatively new in the craft beer industry, the jury is still out as to whether this model will be good or bad for the acquired brewery and its customers.
