612 Brew
The 612 Brewery and Taprrom is located in Northeast Minneapolis in close proximity to several breweries that are within a very short walking distance. They usually have 6-7 rotating beers on tap but not a huge variety as it seems that the same seasonal beers sort of come and go throughout the year. They have a really nice, large outdoor patio for your summer enjoyment. No food served but a food truck stop by regularly. Location: 945 Broadway Street Northeast, Minneapolis Updated: Jul '15 |
Able Seedhouse + Brewery
Able is a recent entry into the Minneapolis craft beer battle having opened their taproom in 2015. They operate using a unique business model where they are esentially their own supply chain for grains using only locally grown grains in their brewing process. As the name implies, they have their own seedhouse for experimentation and growing the grains they need. Stop in a taste a beer brewed with Minnesota grains. Location: 1121 Quincy Street Northeast, Minneapolis Updated: Dec '15 |
Bang Brewing
Bang Brewing is a very unique micro brewery inside of a grain bin. They are Minnesota's first brewery dedicated to brewing beer with organic ingredients. Pouring up to approximately 10 beers that include a good cross-section of different styles. With limited hours and great beer, it gets busy here when they are open. Nice outdoor seating area for music and fun. Run by a friendly and knowledgeable husband/wife team. Location: 2320 Capp Road, St Paul Updated: Feb '16 |
Barley John's Brew Pub
Barley John's is one of just a handful of breweries in the Northern suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul. They are also one of the older breweries in Minnesota having started in 2000. They have a decent food menu with a good variety to choose from. Beer is good with a nice variety and about 8 beers on tap. The interior could use a little modernization. It can get busy and loud here. Location: 781 Old Highway 8, New Brighton Updated: Dec '14 |
Bauhaus Brew Labs
Another Northeast brewery in very close proximity to others - just 1 block from 612 Brewery, on the same street. They don't have a lot of variety as they have had the same 4 beers on tap for at least 2 years with a couple of seasonals mixed in. I wasn't impressed with the flavor of their beer, but since they don't change up often, others must enjoy it. The brewery is large with a large outdoor patio. They also have a huge canning facility. No food served but a food truck stops by. Location: 1315 Tyler Street Northeast, Minneapolis Updated: Sep '14 |
Birch's on the Lake
As the name implies, Birch's on the Lake sits on the southern side of Lake Minnetonka in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. Huge combination brew house downstairs and supper club upstairs Pub food is served downstairs and a more enhanced dinner menu upstairs. About 8 beers on tap. Great view of Lake Minnetonka. Location: 1310 Wayzata Blvd, Long Lake Updated: Dec '15 |
Wayzata Brew Works
Brew Works, which opened in the summer of 2016, is another brewery on the shore of Lake Minnetonka. This one is also in the western suburbs but sits on the north shore and provide a great outdoor setting for drinking beer and enjoying the Minnesota summers with friends. There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays. No food menu here but there is a food truck outside and you can bring in your own food. The place is rather large considering they don't have a restaurant, but there is an upscale restaurant next door within the same building. Brew Works also has a distillery. Location: 294 Grove Lane East, Wayzata Updated: Jul '16 |
Bent Brewstillery
Good brewery and distillery serving up a nice variety of beer styles from their 20-barrel brewing system. I particularly enjoy their Funked Up line of sours. There are about 10 taps pouring along with a few of their bottles. No food served but you can bring in your own from nearby restaurants. There is a food truck that stops by occasionally. Location: 1744 Terrace Drive, Roseville Updated: May '15 |
Waconia Brewing Company
Waconia Brewing is a family owned brewery located on the fringe of the western suburbs just a few blocks off Lake Waconia. I found that most of their beers had decent flavor. With 10 taps, they offer something for everyone. Food truck stops by occasionally. Cozy neighborhood bar with occasional live music. Location: 255 W Main Street, Waconia Updated: May '15 |
Lupine Brewing
After we left South Fork Brewing, we headed to Lupine. These two breweries are located back-to-back. Delano is a small town, so it's a little surprising that it would support 2 breweries in so close proximity. Expecting just a handful of people as was the case at South Fork, we were surprised by the large crowd. But after we drank the beer, it really was no surprise that this would be the go-to bar for many people. There was a nice variety to choose from of about 10 beers on tap. The owner was bartending and we engaged in a really nice conversation about his brewery and brewing, in general. The brewery started in St Cloud and moved to Delano in 2015. Location: 248 River St North, Delano Updated: Oct '15 |
Big Wood Brewery
Cozy, catchy-named bar just north of St. Paul in White Bear Lake with 10 beers on tap, which include a mix of seasonal beers and year-round beers. I went late on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. Luckily, I was able to squeeze in at the bar to enjoy a few of their beers. Only light snacks are served but you can bring in food from several nearby restaurants. Location: 248 River St North, Delano Updated: Jan '15 |
Dangerous Man Brewing Co
This highly-rated brewery is one of the better ones in Minnesota. A small batch brewery that mixes new beers with flagship beers on their tap list. Their top beers include a Peanut Butter Porter and Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout. But dark beers aren't their only specialty. They brew styles of beer that appeal to everyone as can be attested to by their regular full-house crowds. Unfortunately, this also means long wait times to get beer - I've waited in line up to 20 minutes. A good brewery to visit, whether you live here or are just passing through. One of many northeast Minneapolis breweries within walking distances to each other. Location: 1300 NE 2nd Street, Minneapolis Updated: Apr '17 |
