Craft Beer Bar IBrew Wired
This is the second location for Craft Beer Bar IBrew. After asking for some help from a few people in the street we found it. I had walked by it twice and did not see it, even though it was right on the corner. It was small with 3 tables and a bar with 8 stools. 10 brews on tap 5-Japanese. 4 - American 1 Scotland (Brew Dog's Cocoa Psycho stout). They had a nice collection so stop by and have a few beers but it is not a place you would go to make a night out of it.

Swan Lake Pub
This place is very clean and a bit upscale, modern furniture and 7 tables with 2 bars 5 another with 7 stools. They give you a nice cup of nuts, however I will warn you some are very smoky. Very clean with nice modern styled. Was very pleasant atmosphere as on a Tuesday night it as not very busy, only about 10 customers in the place. However as we moved into the later evening it filled up and got a bit more lively. They serve 8 of their own beers and 7 beers from other Japanese craft breweries. This is both a bar and restaurant with a nice menu.

Goodbeer Faucets
Found this place on the web and it had very favorable comments. It was about a 6-7 blocks walk from the train station. It was in a very nice and busy area stores, shops, restaurants, etc. It is on the second floor above a Family Mart. It was a very busy place, lots of people enjoying their beer. There were 18 stools around the U shaped bar, 10 tables and another bar along the windows with 8 more stools. Very good worldly beer selection: 40 taps total, 8 of their own (Nide Beer), the rest from around the world including some other local Japan beers. They also had a diverse crowd, probably only 60% Japanese locals and 40% internationals. I asked the bartender about other places to visit close by and he suggested I visit "CraftHeads", about a 6 block walk. Sitting at the bar I met a couple form Florida and Nick from California. Nick is working in Japan for few years. He offered to come along over to CraftHeads, So off we went in search of more great beer. CraftHeads
This had me wonder as we ended up walk down a small street almost (alley like). Then we saw it was down a long flight of stairs in the basement of the building. My expectation were not good. However once in side it was just fine. They has a wide selection of local and International credit beer. As Nick and I enjoyed our beer we meet Robert who came in for a beer and was waiting for his wife to arrive. It turned out to be a very memorable evening as the 4 of us total strangers enjoyed beer and told stories all night long. Eventually, we were asked to leave as the bar was closing for the night. Harajuku Taproom
The Harajuku Taproom is one of two Baird Brewing taprooms in Tokyo and one of several in greater Japan. It is located in Shibuya which is mostly known for its large shopping district, especially in close proximity to Shibuya Station. It's about a 15-minute walk from Shibuya Station but a very short walk from Harajuku Station. Baird Brewing has been around since 2000 so they are one of the breweries at the forefront of Japanese craft beer. The taproom is located on the second floor and has ample space for large gatherings to drink some good beer and eat a nice selection of Japanese-style food. They pour up to 17 different beers with 2 of those being on cask. Location: 1-20-13 Jingumae, Shibuya Nearest Metro: Harajuku Station, Yamanote Line Updated Feb '17 |
TY Harbor Brewery
This brewery/restaurant is among the canals on the Southeast side of Tokyo. The main restaurant seating and bar area are indoors, but there is also a second bar and restaurant seating outdoors which provide a very nice atmosphere in the summer evening as tour boats go back and forth. There are 5 of their year-round beers on the menu plus 1 seasonal beer. They also include 1 guest tap from a U.S brewery and 1 from a Japanese brewery. For the most part, their beer is average tasting, but still good. The food is quite good also. Delirium Cafe
The Ginza location is a recent addition to the Tokyo beer scene. There is another location in Tokyo but I am not familiar with it. For Belgian beer, there is no better place to go than to Delirium. This one is no exception. With a good tap list (about 20) supplemented with a large bottle list (100+), there is a good cross section of beer for everyone and it's definitely is worth the visit. Good sized bar with lots of table seating. and neatly decorated interior. Great food menu, as well. As you might expect in Ginza, prices are little on the steep side, but consistent with other places. Unfortunately, I was on my way to the airport so I had just enough time to stop by and check out while enjoying a beer. I definitely will be back next trip!
